Mestre Zé

Adailton Dos Reis, known as Mestre Zé Com Fome, grew up in a rural area of Brazil, developing an early fascination with Capoeira on the farm where his parents worked and which was owned by Capoeira Master Mestre Rafael, founder of Senzala group. Despite financial challenges, Mestre Rafael offered Zé free training, which became his life’s passion and education. Overcoming societal stigma and family disapproval, Zé’s dedication led him to train under Mestre Museu in Belo Horizonte at 18. Eventually, he moved to the U.S. to spread Capoeira, founding an academy in Framingham, Massachusetts. Zé’s journey from a farm boy to a Capoeira Master culminated in receiving his Mestre cord in 2010, and he now teaches in Miami. Alongside Capoeira, Zé holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, competes in MMA, and has a record of 5 wins and 1 loss.
